Jarvinator Saves Planet Earth
The Jarvinator flew straight down toward the ocean with all his might. He could see the huge wall of blue water slowly making its way towards the low-lying islands.
Any human would have been terrified by the sight of it, towering as high as askyscraper and stretching as far as the eye could see. Luckily, the Jarvinator was a robot, and he wasn’t afraid of anything.
He plunged into the sea, shooting like a missile down to the ocean floor. Using his arms like enormous drills, he dug a massive trench from the southern tip of India to the northern tip of Western Australia.
As he flew up out of the ocean and into the air, he could see the huge wall of water suddenly slow down. It grew ever smaller as it struck the deep trench that he had made.
Billions of mega-litres of ocean were drawn down into the trench. Some low swirling water washed onto the islands, and under several doorways. But no-one was hurt, and no buildings were damaged.
The Jarvinator ran all possible solutions through his advanced computer brain. There was only one chance left. With the speed of light, he flew to Stanford, California which has the largest satellite dish in the world. Wrenching the 46 metre diameter dish from its base, he flew back to the northern end of the tsunami wave as it approached Los Angeles.
With every ounce of his robotic strength, he held the dish in front of him and flew along the length of the giant wave, turning it away from the land.
Billions of mega-litres of water sprayed back in the opposite direction as the Jarvinator unleashed all his might on the power of the ocean.
Within minutes, he had smashed the wall of water down to a large swell. The people who lived on the west coast of the Americas had about a metre of water wash through their homes. All their electrical equipment stopped working, and all the children, cats and dogs had to jump onto the furniture to stay dry. But no-one was killed and all the houses remained standing.
The Jarvinator felt pleased with his work. He returned the satellite dish to its base in California and flew back to his home in the deepest darkest cavern of central Australia. Dr Marsh was waiting for him with a huge grin on his face.
