Star Princess Indi
“You know,” said Flutter, “I think we’re going to need more help. I’m going to take you to see the Wise One.”
“Who is the Wise One?” Indi asked.
“An old woman who has lived in a cave near here for more years than anyone can count. She doesn’t like to be disturbed unless you have a really serious problem. But she can help when you don’t know where else to go.”
“Well, I’m getting really worried about Glimmer, so I think I need to talk to her.”
“Okay, follow me.” With a flap of his bright blue wings, Flutter headed back through the park and flew into the forest that led down into the gully. Indi kept up with him on her dainty feet, as the trees were too thick for her to fly.
Down they went, past low-hanging branches and over fallen tree trunks. Soon they came upon a bubbling stream that gurgled over mossy banks and ran down into the greenish darkness.
All at once, it turned into a sparkling waterfall that splashed down a cliff and crashed onto the rocks below. The spray that came up caught the setting rays of the sun, and made a giant rainbow that floated in the air.
“Oh look,” said Indi. “It’s just like home!”
“You’ll need to fly for this next bit,” said Flutter. “It’s too dangerous to climb down from here. Just remember to follow right behind me, no matter what.”
So saying, he flew down the steep cliff with Indi close behind, following the waterfall about halfway down. Then he flew to one side of the waterfall and disappeared behind it.
“Gosh,” said Indi. “Where did he go?”
She took a deep breath and flew to the place where Flutter had vanished. To her amazement, the cliff opened up behind the waterfall and there was a huge cave. Flutter was perched on a ledge, waiting for her.
Indi looked around in surprise at the tiniest home she had ever seen. The cave had been fitted out with bright rugs and comfy chairs and looked very cosy.
