Star Princess Indi
“Glimmer, I love you, and I want to take you home. Please tell my heart where you are.”
Suddenly, she could see a faint light glowing at the top of one of the tall trees. As she flew closer, Indi could see her friend lying in a bird’s nest with a family of tired-looking magpies.
“Glimmer!” she cried. “There you are. Are you all right?”
“Indi!” he squeaked. “Am I glad to see you! I think my light has been keeping the birds awake at night, but I’m fine.”
“Flutter!” she called down below. “I’ve found Glimmer. The Wise One was right.”
“Yippee!” yelled Flutter.
After thanking the magpies, Indi took Glimmer down to the ground. They both told Flutter how grateful they were for his help.
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” Indi smiled.
“Wouldn’t have missed it for anything,” Flutter replied.
“And we’ll see you again soon,” promised Indi.
“Yeah,” said Glimmer. “Probably the next time we play leap frog!”
That made them all laugh. Flutter waved goodbye as Star Princess Indi took Glimmer’s hand. They flew up higher and higher into the sky until all he could see was Glimmer’s faint glow.
When they got all the way back to the moon and the other stars, everyone was overjoyed. There was a lot of dancing and singing and celebrating, because there is nothing nicer than finding a friend that you thought you had lost.
Star Princess Indi treasured the gemstone heart that she got from the Wise One. She wore it around her neck so that it would always be with her. When her friends asked her why, she would say:
“To remind me that sometimes, if I’m searching for something really important, I need to look for the answer with my heart.”
