Eddie and the Rainbird
“Hello rainbird,” said Eddie. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
The rainbird watched him quietly.
“You see, there are bush fires all around and we really need some rain to put them out.”
The rainbird fluffed her feathers.
“And if you could just laugh for a few minutes, then the clouds will laugh too and that will make it rain.”
The rainbird kept staring at him silently.
“Maybe I’ll come a bit closer, and try to explain it better,” said Eddie, and he started to climb the tree.
He got onto the first branch, and the second branch, but when he put his foot on the third branch it broke and gave way. CRRRACK! Suddenly Eddie was tumbling back down to the ground. AAARRRGGGHHH! he yelled. He landed hard on a pile of leaves, and looked up just in time to see the rainbird flying away……
