Oscar and Grandpa’s Motorboat
“Clap, clap,” went the pelicans’ beaks.
“We’d better start heading back,” said Grandpa, looking at his watch.Oscar stopped smiling and looked down at his feet.
Grandpa ruffled his hair. “Mum and Dad might let us stay out longer next time.”
“Next time?” asked Oscar.
“Sure,” said Grandpa. “I’ll need you to help me with the boat again soon.”
“Hooray! Hooray!” went Oscar.
Slowly the motorboat started the trip back. The sun was getting low and it turned the skyto a golden colour.
“Grandpa, there goes a speed boat with someone behind on water skis,” said Oscar.
They motored past sandbanks and grassy headlands.
