Star Princess Indi

Somewhere a long way up in the sky, there lived a kind Star Princess called Indi. She had golden eyes, sandy hair and a cheeky smile.

Because Indi was a Star Princess, she would sleep all day long curled up in a soft white cloud. Then at night, when the moon and the stars began to shine in the sky, she would fly way up high to see her friends. They would laugh and dance, play games and tell each other silly stories.

Sometimes when Indi was up before the sunset, the golden rays would make a pretty rainbowthat stretched across the sky. Then they would allslide down the arch like a slippery dipuntil the sun went away for the night.

One evening, Indi and her friends were playing leap frog, and a little star named Glimmer was trying very hard to win. He leapt up so high that he jumped right out of the sky, and fell down to Earth. All his friends wereterribly sad and didn’t know what to do.

“Don’t worry,” said Star Princess Indi. “I’ll go down to Earth, find Glimmer and bring him back home before you know it.”

The moon and the stars all gave a cheer, and watched as she flew down to the ground below.

“I’m sure I saw Glimmer falling into this big park,” she said to herself. “I mean, he is a star, after all. I should be able to see him shining in the dark.”

So she walked all through the night. She looked in pricklybushes, under cobwebbed trees and among the tangledflower beds, but she could not see his light. She called and called, but there was no answer.

By the time the sun came up the next morning, Indi was very tired from searching all night long.

“Goodness,” she yawned. “I’m going to need some rest before I start looking again.”

Indi walked over to a big shrub dotted with white star-shaped flowers. Climbing in among the leafy branches, she made herself comfortable and fell asleep.
